applecare sucks, dont listen to this guy, i gave my laptop to them and they returned it with many more problems and the hinge was busted in and it was even chipped! i returned it to them and they cannot repair the hinge from popping whenever u move the screen, for more than a month ive been arguing with them after they promised to replace my computer since they couldnt fix my issue after 3-4 consecutive repairs and now tonight i gotta go back and just frustrate them some more! applecare sucks!!!
being a salesman for apple, it does extend you warrenty if you get it at the end of your warrenty , it takes effect from the date your MAC was purchased, not from when you by the applecare. but well worth it, like soldierknowbest said, you never know if shit is going to go wrong , so it is always worth it
can you only buy applecare when you buy a new mac, or can i buy it now my warranty has run out :S

well if i was you i would probably wait a little bit, it cant be to long before they update the specs of the macbooks. thats what i would do.

I bought the basic 13 inch macbook pro. 1100 with student discount.
yeah i like it. i had for 4 months now and have not had any problems with it. the battery lasts me about 6 hours just browsing internet and doing my homework.

Don’t bother getting applecare if you smoke because they will refuse to service your mac/ipod/whatever if there is any trace of smoke on it. They consider it a biohazard. It nullifies the warranty.
Okay, so what happens if you’re almost finished with the 3 year warranty? can we extend with another apple care? XD

I’m purchasing the 21.5″ and upgrading to the 2.93 i7 quad core. I’ve already bought an extra 8GB RAM for it. I wouldn’t ever think twice. The Apple Care is totally worth it.

@PAINTDavid Did you buy the Mac Pro and the Apple Care package from the same person ?There are 2 possibilities .Firstly the Mac Pro is more than 1 year old .”Cause we can register the Apple Care within the first year after you bought your Mac.
Secondly the first owner on the Mac Pro didn’t register the product online when he bought it .You have to find the way to contact him to get the his receipt .or call 1-800-275-2273

HEY man i bought a mac pro on ebay and i purchased applecare 3-year protection plan in the package never opened and when i go to register it says……
“We’re sorry, but this product does not appear to be eligible for coverage. If you believe that your product should be covered, you can submit your Proof of Purchase. If your product is eligible, it will be added to your agreement later”. what should i do.

ok so i bought an ipod touch 4g and it was required to buy the apple care protection plan according to this store i was buying from. i jailbroke my ipod with 4.2.1 greenpoision and if anything happens to my ipod ill restore it and send it in. tell me if this is a good idea, cuz i mean i didnt want it so it would be a waste not to use it. thx

I took the jump and bought the extra Extended Care Plan, and boy I am GLAD I did. My laptop had one of those defective expanding batteries, and I noticed it right after the original warranty ran out. Turns out it was covered in the extended care since it was a defect. I am happy it paid for a $99 battery.!
